“I’m beginning to wonder if what the church does to the people is the same thing the zoo does to the animals”.
Half a world away our team of 9 have made a home, we’ve made community, we’re experiencing the culture and we’re taking in the sights. Everyday we’ve met new people, eaten new food, seen new sights, have had our worlds completely rocked and have had our cultural norms and expectancies completely flipped on their heads. Homes have been opened to us and stories shared that we could have never imagined and laughs and smiles have filled the air.
We have found our home in Tororo, Uganda four or five days ago (dates and time lose their value quickly here, trying to keep track of how long you’ve been here, let alone what day it is has become nearly impossible). We’ve teamed up with a small church called Deliverance Church and will be staying here for about a week and a half more, then we make way for Kenya.
Everyone here on the team is in great spirit and good health. The chances we get to make it to internet cafes are slim.. the chances that those internet connections can even load a page, even slimmer, which has made updating blogs difficult, but they are coming from all of us soon enough along with pics and videos from everyone as soon as possible.
The stories and pictures are all on their way, thank you for the support and prayers, we love you guys back home and are doing our best to share what of the experience we can with you.
