at the feet of Jesus (and Mount Kilimanjaro)

Hello everyone! Keith, Cole, Cherise, Abby, Lauren, Megan, Lindsay and I are now in Moshi, Tanzania directly at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. It is absolutely beautiful here. Our team spent about 4 days in Nairobi, Kenya last week praying to God asking Him where in Tanzania He wanted to send our team. Since we had absolutely no plans, locations, or ministry contacts set up for our time in this country, we were very excited to hear God put the town of Moshi on our hearts, and then go so far as to set us up with a loving missionary family based out of Bethel Church in Redding, California to host us for the first two days we spent here. The missionaries are Ryan and Stacy (husband and wife, and they have 4 kids now), and they started a ministry here called Global Effect. That ministry does pretty much everything, and God has been blessing them tremendously with new opportunities to advance the Kingdom here every day. They have ways of putting us in contact with a 24 hour prayer house, homeless ministries, orphan care, abused women, hospitals, and so much more. And since our team received so many clear and different visions from God about what He wanted our time in Tanzania to look like, how perfect is it that the Lord sent us to a ministry that does well, everything?!

Anyways, we have now been in this city for 4 days and we are settling in. God gave us a wonderful place to stay… there’s beds to sleep in, running water, and sometimes we even have electricity which means we can charge the ipods and have worship music! So far we have found orphanages and schools to spend time at, a nearby house where 15 homeless young boys (age 8-19) to minister to and disciple, a hospital to pray at, the 24 hour house of prayer, and street vendors everywhere who are enslaved by drugs and violence and desperately need the light of Jesus as well. And it seems every time we travel around, God shows us more opportunities to spread Jesus love to the people who live in this tourism intensive city.

Please continue to keep our team in prayer as we spend our final days overseas with this community. Pray that God continues to let us all die completely to ourselves so we can be completely alive to serving Jesus alone. Pray for our well being, that no attacks of harm, evil, illness, or injury could delay or deter the love God wants to spread to the people of Moshi. And please pray that we would continue to have listening ears and open hearts to doing exactly what God says, going where He goes, and saying what He says. The harvest here is so incredible, so please continue praying to the Lord of the harvest that He would bless His harvesters and send us exactly where we need to be exactly when He wants us to be there.

Thank you so much for your prayers and loving support.
