Back on the Field

Even though I was back home in the
States for just over a month it still had the feel of being on the
mission field still. I was traveling around to family and friends
telling stories over the past year of my life and hearing what was
going on with theirs. So when I arrived in Uganda it was an easy
transition.

(We were very blessed to be able to raft
the Nile River on our first day in the country before we set off for
ministry.)

After so crazy African travel we made
it to Tororo were we would spend the next month. We were welcome by
Pastor Philemon and his wonderful church staff and members. Our
three teams would be traveling to different locations every week to
have a different aspect of living and ministry in the Tororo area.

My team started off in Tororo, which is
a small little town but also the biggest place around. We had a nice
little house that the 11 of us packed out. We were very blessed to
have 3 wonderful Mamas cook for us and take care of us. Ministry was
filled with door to door encounters which was a first for most of our
team. It was awesome to see them get pushed out of their comfort
zones and share their faith with complete strangers. We were also
able to pray over the sick at the local hospitals and preach at
church.

Our next location was out in the
country side in the middle of no where. It was a beautiful location
surround by mountains and hills. Again we were blessed by the locals
that took such great care of us. Our ministry was spread out a
little more as we were able to go door to door, lead children’s
ministry and help construct a new church. This was the first time we
were without power and running water. It was an awesome time to
enjoy the simple things in life.

The last of our locations was the small
town of Malaba. We were within the town which was fun because it
allowed us to get cold sodas after ministries. We went to clinics,
door to door, schools and lead church. We had awesome nights of
worship under the stars when the power would go out in the town.

This was an eye opening experience for
my team. Most of them had never been exposed to such rugged
conditions let a long met people who lived every day this way. God
moved in power and touched not only the hearts of myself and my team
in new ways but also the hearts of the people that we were able to
encounter. Uganda was an amazing place filled with wonderful people.
God is moving in power there and I am very thankful that I was able
to be a part of it.
