Better blog now than not at all!

So, I have been majorly slacking with this whole blogging thing, so I figured I would give everyone an update on what's going on…

After having my first experience using public transportation here in Africa (3 days and a 24 hour bus ride later…) my team and I have finally made it to Tanzania. We are staying in a house that has a shower AND flushing toilet. Talk about being spoiled! We have been doing door to door ministry around our pastor's church. Most of the homes we've been going to are Muslim, so thats been a little hard to swallow. The language barrier is even worse here, too, especially since none of our contacts speak english. We have been doing ministry with the street kids/orphans that come to the church. This is my favorite, because we go to the church and just play with and love on them! I have so many new hair dressers 🙂 A few days after arriving, part of a world race team joined us! They are so cool and I love hanging out with them:) There will be 3 more coming sometime this week, I'm excited since there's power in numbers! My team also went to the bus station the other night to hang out with the street kids. There were about 15 boys that sleep there every night because their parents don't let them in their homes. We brought them new shirts and some bread, which made their whole night! They were so happy and excited we were there. Although our time here in Tanzania has been short, I really feel like we have shown some light and given this country hope. I can't wait to see what's in store for us in Uganda. Thank you everyone for your encouraging emails and love! It's nuts to think I am already half way finished with my African adventure! Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers 🙂

PS- we are white water rafting the Nile next week after debrief. HOW COOL IS THAT?!
