Digging in, in Kenya

So the trip to Kenya was crazy! The whole time we had light I was going crazy in scripture. God was showing so much to me it was like a mental overload. But it was so worth it. It was amazing to meet up with team 1 again!! It is hard to be separated sometimes. We are a huge family. But traveling together makes it all better 🙂 On the bus to Kenya we all picked a piece of paper that had a name on it. Before we could open it and see the name we had to ask God to give us a message to them. It is crazy how God replies to that. I got just what I needed to hear. And they had no idea what was going on in my head. So it was an amazing thing to do. When we got to our destination in Bungoma, Kenya it was raining. But we were glad to get here. Yet again we were pleasantly surprised with our home!! We have a small but amazing place to stay. I love the hospitality of the people! And best of all we don’t have to use a squaty, we have a real toilet!!! So excited about that. The church is right next to the house so we hear everything that goes on at 5 am. It can be a bit crazy sometimes. But its all good 🙂
We have dug right in since we got here in ministry. They had a schedule for us and it is working so well. So far we have done 2 days of door to door ministry. It was great! The people just accept you into their homes and are eager to hear what we have to tell them. Some of them accepted Christ right then and there. That just made our hearts feel amazing! Best of all is when Jarah and I went to this mans house to talk to him he was already saved. So he gave us some encouraging stories and was so glad to see what we were doing. Well he wanted to be nice and offer us a gift. So guess what we got!?! He gave us one of his live chickens to take home for supper. We got to chase the chicken and catch it. Then we got to carry it home. That was the craziest gift to receive ever!! But he tasted really good!  Today we did hospital ministries…. Yea ill be honest i was freaking out last night. Hospitals here are nothing like in the States. And I pass out just getting a shot, so how in the world am I going to handle this??? Well my amazing team supported me so much, and they prayed a ton for me. But it was good today. I almost passed out but i didn’t because towards the end I got to pray over new born babies. They gave me hope that I was going to be ok. Yes i am still freaked out by hospitals and I did get major tunnel vision, but I stayed conscious the whole time. So God did watch out for me. The Kenyans we work with are so amazing! They watch out for us everywhere we go. Plus they are super nice and fun to talk to. Its only been a few days here and I love it so much. Later this week we are going to teach in schools. I am so pumped for that. That is where my heart is, and I love the children!!
So keep praying for us all. We have to much to do and we are doing some great things. We love this place so much. And just think, if we love it here so much how much does God love it here?? That is a mind blowing thought!! Keep our door to door ministry in your prayers. We will be doing it a lot. And also just the things we do and say are all for God. We need to be reminded that sometimes. I am so excited to see what all happens here in Kenya!
