“More pleasing to me than all your prayers, works and
penances is that you would believe I love you.”
I read this in what is quickly becoming the greatest book I
have ever read, The Ragamuffin Gospel.
Over the course of the last two months, God has rocked my
world. He has broken and revived me in a way I never thought possible. The brokenness
hurt and it hurt badly. Facing things
from my past that I haven’t thought of in years was extremely difficult but in
that pain I found something GREAT! I found the love that I had been longing
for. That is the unexplainable love of God. Knowing, feeling, and believing
that my Heavenly Father loves me more than I can fathom has changed my life.
Not only have I changed internally but externally as well. Recognizing that I
am a daughter of the All Mighty has allowed me to walk a little straighter,
hold my head a little higher and smile a whole lot more! This love, HIS LOVE,
is earthshaking!
My teammates would agree, something incredible is happening
in East Africa. God is moving in this place. When I made the decision to
surrender everything I am and everything I want to be, to Him, He began to open
my eyes to a whole new world. I wish I had the words to explain what my eyes
have seen. I’ve witnessed poverty on a level I didn’t know existed and in the
same moment I’ve witnessed joy that left me speechless. It’s a different world
here in Africa. I don’t know what it is about being in the middle of nowhere
surrounded by people that don’t speak a lick of English but believe me when I
say God speaks to you.
Thankfully, we are all taking a ton of pictures to help elaborate
on our crazy blogs. One thing is certain; the love God is evident in this
place. I see it everywhere. From the
hospitality of strangers to the beautiful African landscape that goes on for
miles. His love and beauty is everywhere. Lately with the blistering heat, I’m
starting to find it in the cool breeze, cloud coverage, and random rain storms.
In my eyes, that is God’s way of saying, “Cool off. Take a break. You’re doing
well and I love you.” His love really is EVERYWHERE<3
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the
greatest of these is LOVE.
1 Corinthians 13:13
Father,
Thank you for the eyes that stumble across this blog. I pray
you speak to their hearts and allow them to feel this amazing love that I can’t
stop talking about. You are an amazing God and I’m so thankful that every day,
whether it be good or bad, I fall more and more in love with you.
Your daughter,
Meganlee
