Holy Spirit Fall
Hey Everybody,
It’s been a while since I have blogged I know, but
here I am now so let’s back track to Kenya, and what the Lord did
there. So this was on July 5th, me and the guys, who is William Cole
& I, We were going out to do an (ATL), an (ATL) stands for Ask The Lord,
which what we do is we sit & pray & just listen to the Holy Spirit,
& directs us where to go. SO about 10 – 15 minutes later Wil asks, so
what did you guys hear? I responded well He told me to walk towards the school;
Wil laughed and said he told me to go to the well. Which was in the very
same direction, so we start walking and be fore we got to either of the
destinations we saw an old woman, probably about 80 years old, hacking away at
the tree with a dole machete, cutting her up some fire wood. So Wil says
should we go to her, I immediately responded yes, we then took a sharp turn
heading towards her, when we got to her I was standing beside her asking her
questions, getting to know her, creating a relationship you know. Well it
was time to pop the question so I did, I asked her if she was born again, if
she believed in Jesus Christ and asked him to come into her life, and I was
expecting her to say yes of course I do, and we would just be laughing, and I
would just be encouraging her. WRONG! Right when the translator got
those words out of his mouth! Her eyes got so wide, and then she started
swinging and pointing her machete at me! Saying doesn’t ever speak out the name
of Jesus again, blah blah blah, she was so furious. So what did I do I
started coming back at her saying some things of my own, I remember she said
GET OUT OF HERE YOUR WASTING YOUR TIME! SO I proceeded to say, mame were
not the ones wasting our time, you’re wasting your life. At that moment
the Holy Spirit said to me Keith BE QUIET! So I was silent along with Wil
& Cole, 5 minutes go by and the Holy Spirit spoke to me saying, just help
her with the tree, I waited a little bit before I asked because she almost
chopped my nose off the last time! So right when I was about to to ask my
friend Wil ask would you like us to help you chop the wood. I smiled and
laughed while telling him what I just heard, then he laughed because what he
heard was the Holy Spirit saying to him that you need to speak this out for confirmation.
So I start helping her chop the wood, and so I told Wil & Cole to just go
on, and continue there (ATL) because I feel l need to stay and help and I don’t
know how long it will take. When they left I asked them if the translator,
his name is Hudson,
I asked them if he could stay back with me? They had no problem. As I was
chopping the wood with that dole machete the Holy Spirit was saying to me Keith
just kill her with kindness. So that’s what I did I stayed there for another
hour chopping fire wood for her & just talking with her not about the
Gospel, I was like two people trying to get to know one another. It was
about night time now, and I helped her strap up all the wood and I carried it
for her, of course just my luck her bomma was like a mile away. So we got
there, and we unloaded the wood, she dropped something and I ran over to her,
and said no no no, let me get that for you. After everything was settled
I told her that I was leaving, and that its was lovely getting to know her, and
that whenever she needs help with wood, just call on me and ill get it for you.
She was laughing and covering her faces and asked WHY are you doing this for
me? So I simply responded by saying, God told me to, and he also wants me to tell
you that he loves you very much. When I was heading back to our bomma that
night I was thinking that it’s so funny how God works, because our team was
studying Matthew at that time, and that morning we were on the topic about the
Mustard Seed. I was thinking while walking back to our bomma that night I
don’t need to see her come to know Christ, she has probably never had anybody treat her with that much
kindness in her life, and to where that Mustard Seed that was planted inside of
her, when somebody else comes to her down the road, and shares the Gospel with
her, that seed will ROOT, and IT WILL GROW! AMEN!
