I See the Cloud and I Jump in

Before going to Africa you always here about how beautiful
the people are here, I always assumed this to be true, however you can’t really
understand it until you are here. Some of them are just so filled with joy that
you just cant help laughing and smiling with them. We are staying with a Pastor
and his wife, Peace. They have a house about the size of a large trailer home
in the US and there is about twenty people staying there. It is incredible; it
doesn’t feel that crowded either.  We are
just now starting to get into the groove of ministry, today I taught English to
third grade class for about 3 hours at a school outside the church. It went
really well actually, they are all eager to learn. We had the afternoon off so
me and some teammates went into town where we found this internet café. It’s
fun to try to learn the cultures and do new things, even the squatty potties.
Please keep my team in prayer as this is Africa and the spiritual climate here
is red hot. We have the spirit of God, who created the galaxies, dwelling
inside of us. There truly is no limit to where he can take us. A couple days
ago Eric asked me and Jordy if we wanted to help go get water for the rest of
the team at a supermarket that was close by. I had been sitting around for a
while and was eager to help out so we both gladly said yes. Walking there it
wasn’t as close as I’d thought and I was regretting wearing flip flops. We get
to the grocery store which is called Lebrons Supermarket and find the jugs of
water we are to bring back up the hill to the house. I wasn’t thinking much of
it, It was probably only ¾ of a miles walk. Well the jugs turned out to be
pretty darn heavy, making the trek back anything but easy. We did it, no one
complained and I didn’t think much of it after that. Later that night Eric
spoke to Jordy and I. He felt the lord gave him a word saying that this is what
God has in store for us. We are willing to blindly jump into what God has in
store for us and it’s not going to be easy. People on this team are willing to
jump into things for God without even realizing how difficult it’s going to be.
That’s what happened to us, we wanted to serve, we volunteered, and it ended up
being a lot harder than expected. I feel like this is the beginning for a lot
of people on my team including me, to realize what it really takes to fully
surrender to God and dive in. It’s not always pretty and it may end badly, but
I can’t think of any other place I’d rather be than fully submitted before the
king of kings.
