I will miss you big!

It's been a flea infested, tired legs, showerless month living in the bush of Kenya. But I could not be more joyful and at home. More contagious than our fleas was the smiles and laughter shared with our new family. And more important than our tired legs were the homes that were able to hear and receive the gospel. And better than a physical shower was the cleansing and renewal of our hearts from the peace and simplicity of our life in the bush.

This month has been filled with new experiences, new foods, new forms of transportation and most importantly new relationships within our team and with the people of the Maasai tribe. I've learned the true meaning of hospitality from the families that would allow a group of 14 white girls into their home to hear the good news of Jesus. I've practiced patience as we've adjusted to how african time and "programs" run. I've seen more smiles, heard more laughter and held more little African hands than ever before. I've picked up on some different languages and learned how to cook some delicious African food from the best momma around. Most importantly I've witnessed first hand God's goodness and faithfulness in my life and lives of those around me.

The Maasai men gave us tribal names, mine being "Nabulu" which means always growing. They gave it to me because really I'm short and they thought I was the baby of the group. But the meaning to me is bigger. I know this whole trip is a growing process and really I hope I never stop growing in new experiences and in my relationship with God. Kenya has been amazing and I can't even wait to see all that is to come for us in Tanzania as we move on. But in the words of our dear friend Joseph, "I will miss you big," Kenya. This place will forever have a spot in my heart.
