Kenya. Enough Said. #BOOM

So, I LOVED Kenya. I have to be honest and say that I had no desire to leave those people and places that I loved. I could write 50 blogs about all of the incredible things that God did there, but I only have 30 minutes in a sketchy Tanzanian internet cafe, so I’ll just give a Kenya recap…

July 1st:
-gave my first sermon ever to a huge congregation
-40 minutes flew by as I talked about the importance of the Word of God
-got to sit in on the “boys talk” (every christian girl’s dream!)…it was horribly awkward and SICK. be careful what you wish for.
-found a rat living in our room…was paranoid for the rest of our time there. made sure my pack was always zipped.

July 4th:
-last night had a sleepover with Ex. 1! So fun to reunite for a night!
-spent our Independence Day at Victoria Falls hiking and swimming…too beautiful and fun!
-Jessica made mac n cheese for dinner…AHHHH SO GOOD.
-we all shaved out legs for the first time! independence from hair!

July 5th:
-clinic in the morning! so fun shadowing the doctor and seeing Him heal people physically but also show them Christ
-street kids ministry in the afternoon…these kids just broke out heart
-rooftop worship under the stars!

July 7th:
-had an off day from ministry
-went on a Hippo tour! saw more naked men than hippos, but still fun to ride on Lake Victoria
-shopped at a Masai market and got the coolest gifts ever
-such a bonding day with the team…I love these people

July 8th:
-BEST DAY EVER spent with Jarah, Anna, and Jackson(our Masai translator)
-went to a girls school to worship and dance! was filled with so much joy!
-went to the most beautiful, humble church ever…they were Jesus to us, and loved us so completely!
-hiked to the top of a HUGE rock mountain and saw all of Kenya sprawled before me! God’s glory was so evident!
-Jackson brought us to eat Yamachoma, a roasted meat meal that was DELICIOUS.
-drank 6 Fanta’s and enjoyed every last drop
-heard beautiful testimonies of what the Lord is doing in Kenya
-talked with Philip…learned more than I EVER have about truly having faith and relying on the Lord
-finished of the incredible day with ICE CREAM!!!!!

July 9th:
-second clinic day with Anna and Jesse
-got to collect blood samples, test them for diseases and give injections!
-made my desire to become a doctor multiply exponentially
-got to love on little children who were hurting…so thankful that God lets us have a part in that!
-went to Philip’s house for dinner and realized just how heartbroken I was to leave this place

July 11th-14th:
-journey from Bungoma, Kenya to Mbeya, Tanzania
-almost pooped my pants…twice. miserable…never been so sick in my entire life
-loudest african music ever….50 hours straight
-jordy threw up on the bus..
-jumped off a moving bus to get to a squatty…
-SAW AFRICAN ANIMALSSSS!!!
-made it Tanzania!

Signing off!
-Kelly
