Last week in Kenya

Family and Friends,

Hopefully this is the last update you will receive on the blog from me, as staff! I am going to tell the leaders to make sure everyone blogs when they get out of the "bush" because I know you all are dying to hear from your Amazing Women on this team!

That being said, I talked to the leaders this weekend. They said the team is still trucking along–but they are really looking forward to this country switch. The "Bush" has been incredibly hard physically–as it is very primitive. We intentionally put this country/ministry in the mix on our expedition trip–because as hard as it can be it serves such a good purpose. I think having it as the first country this time, is going to set this team up so so well. BUT as much as they want to be back in civilization, they realize that they are within their last week and they are wanting to focus on what God has in store this week!

We desperately want them to get to a place to "brokenness and abandonemnt"  quickly clinging to God as their source of affirmation, peace, etc. It is crazy how close you get to God and your community when you can't recharege your ipod when it dies, or when you can't check facebook every two minutes, and so on..

I believe these women who may be "over the bush" right now, will look back months from now and recall the time they were in the "bush" of Africa living like the tribe they were called to for a season.

**Prayer request–the team thought they were getting to knew places with the Pastor there, and were going to get to do more of relationship building with people they have already met, but he didn't quite understand. So some expectations have not been met–which could be a good thing in the long run, as quite often on the mission field "our" idea of what ministry should look like is quite different from reality. They are doing typical African ministry, and it is just how they do ministry–which is not good or bad, but just different than how we would do it.  All that being said, it would be great if we could really interceede on behalf of this team this last week that they get to leave the mark they were called their to leave–whatever it looks like. And that the few people they have wanted to go deeper with–they get a chance to go back to their huts this week.

Thanks for all your prayers for this team! You should start seeing blogs Sunday or Monday!
