We all need, long, desire, and strive for the feeling of being loved. Whether that feeling of being loved is from a hug, pat on the back, kiss on the forehead, being held or just holding hands. As humans we all long for that.
Many of the children here in Uganda don’t even know what it really means to be loved. A lot of the children are orphans or their parents are sick or once they turn five they start having to look after the younger siblings. When I look at the children here I can see their longing to be loved.
Coming here to Uganda I knew that God was going to use me to love on the children, but I had no idea to what extent. Words cannot describe how happy I feel when I am able to provide that love for the children. Even if it is only for ten minutes that I am holding them I know that it means a lot for them.
“Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love once another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us.” – 1 John 4:11-12
