Wow we are almost done here in Uganda!! Time is flying by so fast. Two weeks doesn’t even seem like two days here. But God has done wonderful things in this short time. He has given us the most wonderful people to work with, the best host family you could ask for, and crazy insight into who we are and what we are all here for.
I don’t want to leave Uganda already but I know God has plans for us in Kenya, and Tanzania also. But in this short time of being here in Uganda i have made new friends. Procey is this amazing girl who goes to our church (Cornerstone Community Church). She is just so full of life! She first met me and said “from the moment i first saw you i knew you were my friend”. How would that not break your heart??? But she and i have talked and she is very ambitious. She wants to become a nurse. She is so sweet!! When i was sick and missed church on Sunday she wrote me a note saying that she missed me and hopes i feel better, and that i am her best friend from America. She is such a blessing to talk to.
We have done lots of work in the schools here. And all the children just get to my heart. They just love to be loved on and held. They are the sweetest kids i have ever met. I hope that they keep growing in their faith at the schools, and grow in God. They are all so smiley and giggly. It is so great to see the joy they have, when they have nothing. They don’t worry about half the things we Americans do. It is so freeing to see them just loving life the way they know it to be. So who are we to tell them that they need help making their life better?? Why take away the joy they have, while they have it? So i think we just need to keep feeding the joy they have and tell them all the wonderful things that our Heavenly Father can do for them.
My team has been amazing! When i start to doubt myself, they pick my up so fast i haven’t even fallen yet. It is crazy the things God gives them to say. I just love everyone on my team so much. And a few people have done some sermons for the church, and in the schools. Wow!!! God uses them in an amazing way! They speak with the life, and Boldness of God. So if things keep going like this, then this trip is going to be insanely filled with more love and joy for the Lord than i have ever seen in my life. I love to listen to them all. (Sorry dad), But i feel like i am getting so much more out of them than i have in any church i have ever gone to. I love my home churches, don’t get me wrong. But i feel the Lord talking to me through them in ways i haven’t experienced at my home church.
Well we travel on Saturday to Kenya!! Can’t wait!!! So keep us in your prayers for travel. And Keep praying that God uses us in more ways than we could imagine! I love Africa so much. My heart is taken away by these people! Thank you everyone for all you have done for us back home.
Love, Kaylee
