Renewing my Passion

This is what I was made to do as the children saw in unison “Good Morning Teacher Jarah” my heart melts. The last week I’ve had the opportunity to teach in a primary school. The joy that I feel walking into those classrooms is overwhelming. I could feel God using the talents that he has given me to bless these beautiful children. I was who God made me to be standing in front of 40 shining black faces. I feel in love with them instantly and can still hear theyre sweet little voices repeating every English word I say. They are so eager to learn even when theyre using broken pencils and notebooks made with newspaper. Theyre thirst for knowledge is astonishing and fills me with hope for their futures. The National School Anthem for their school is ” We young woman and men of Uganda are marching along the path of Education. Singing and Dancing with joy together. United for a better Uganda.” The children of this school hold this to be a truth in their lives. While they are diligent with their work and focused on the task at hand, when it is time to “sing and dance for Jesus” man those kids sings and dance for Jesus. They love the lord so much and believe him to be the Great provider. For children who lack sufficient school supplies to rejoice in all the Lord has given them is breath taking. All Ugandans rejoice in the Lord unlike any other people group ive ever encountered. Spending just a few hours in a classroom has opened my eyes to just how passionate I am about providing these children with an education that will illuminate their futures. While I know that I have the knowledge to help them succeed, they have a love and a passion for Christ that is contagious. Being in their presence helps me to see the beauty of the Lord and all that he has done for us. We are so incredible blessed here in Uganda and I am daily reminded to rejoice in the Lord because he provides abundantly.
