3 days have passed since we have come to training camp here in Georgia. It gives me goosebumps to think that we are leaving for Africa TOMMOROW!!! Coming into training camp I wasn’t sure what it would be like, my expectations were minimal. But in the very first moment of entering the airport atrium and seeing the faces that I would be seeing in the next 4 months something clicked. Fear, nervousness, any thoughts of the unknown have been reduced because of my wonderful team, and the time we have spent here. We have had intense periods of worship, bonding with our team, and meetings about the culture we are entering. God has spoken here in such a way I have never seen or heard before, and this is just the beginning. Yesterday we created a miral of what we thought as a team God wanted us to see in Africa. Our miral contains a tree with roots growing far down, with a heart in the roots symbolizing we are rooted in God’s love and He is the one who gives us strength and energy. It also contains a lion representing fearlessness, a outline of Africa, with a person holding out a candle to. As a team we have this light and hope of Christ, and my prayer is for in the next 4 months that it would just explode and shine on the countries we are going to. Training camp has stretched me, God has showed himself in so many ways, and I know that He has a wonderful plan for our team and that we will be used for His glory!
