So much love, even in the rain 🙂

As I am typing this is the living room of the coziest homes in Zomba, it is pouring down rain; so loud we have to practically yell to hear each other. This weather is an everyday thing in Malawi. They definitely weren’t kidding when they said it’s the rainy season…

Despite all the downpours, my team has still managed to squeeze in some ministry this week. We are still doing door-to-door ministry, so it’s been kinda hard getting used to that. Needless to say it’s starting to grow on me and I am truly enjoying it:). As Pastor Gama (our host) leads us from home to home, there are always 2 or 3 African children holding our hands the all the way to the next house. That part never gets old:). In fact, the other day as I was walking to the market, one of the little girls from the day before ran up to me and gave me the BIGGEST hug and kiss on the cheek I’ve ever received. That doesn’t get old either:).  It’s awesome how love is displayed throughout our day with little things like that!

Late last week, about half of our team (the other half had a nasty stomach bug…but are completely healthy now:))  hiked for an hour and a half up one of the many mountains to do ministry at one of the houses at the top. Even though we were all drenched in sweat, sunburned, and sore, it was my favorite part of the week. Zomba is so beautiful! Our village is legit in the middle of a huge mountain range, so the top of the mountain was sick! We could see for miles since it was so clear out. I love it here!

Yesterday I got to go to one of Pastor’s friend’s church! Let me just tell you, African church services are the most beautiful things I’ve ever experienced. There is always some kind of singing going on, whether it’s the kids, the teenagers, or the mommas, they are always perfectly harmonized and full of energy. I love it. One of my teammates, Bri, preached. It was SO GOOD! She shared such a good word and I feel like God really touched the people there. We all are taking turns preaching at church every Sunday, so my turn should be up soon:) I’m excited!

We only have about 11 more days in Zomba until we head back to Mabuya Camp in Lilongwe on the 21st. We will be there for one night and then head out on a 19 hour bus ride to Tanzania on the 22nd, should be interesting…especially since Africans aren’t exactly known for their driving skills. This bus driver better be on his A game when we travel because I don’t think I can wait any longer to see the rest of God’s beauty throughout Africa:)
