Hey family and friends! I’m so excited to share my stories when I get home! For now I just want to say that I’m settling in. This first week or so was really a struggle for me. I began t question if I made the right choice in coming here. I was really missing home and our western comforts. But then, on our last day of ministry in the village of Cataboy, we spent two hours at a local villagers home doing a prolonged version of the door to door ministry we’d been doing all week. I felt like we really connected with the people we were talking to! Later that day we had a goodbye service at the church we’d been working in. So many villagers came to say goodbye and just love on us. They don’t have much but they would bring us whatever gifts they could give. Some would give eggs, others fruit, but some of them pieces of candy wrapped in notes wishing blessings on my team and I. It was so humbling to see the impact we had made on the people we had talked with. One woman came up and gave me a piece of fabric she had cut off of one of her few dresses and told me how much she loved me and would miss me. When we left they followed us down the road aways before we drove out of sight.
I was being so negative about the ministry we were doing and waited until the last day to really let it affect me. God is really revealing to me how much I’m going to grow up in this trip. He’s working on every aspect of me right now and it’s so amazing. I’ll blog again soon! I love and miss everyone o much but I know Gos has a reason for my being here.
Traveling the road,
Anna
