A Backwards City

My apologies to everyone for the lack of posts. But you will be glad to read that Jesus is moving in Maputo, Mozambique. During our month in Maputo we stayed with Felito Utuie, a disciple of the Heidi Baker ministries. He is 31 and has already accomplished so much for the kingdom of God. He has seen Jesus deliver people from witch doctor curses. He has been stoned and run out of muslim villages for holding crusades. He has even saved whole muslim villages including the devout chief of the village with the power of Christ. He is a man of God. It was such an honor to work alongside him during crusades, evening deliverance services, even in public markets. The team has seen and learned so much during our time in Mozambique. If you are looking for a ministry to help her is always accepting support. His vision, given to him by God, is that he will set Africa of fire, hence his ministry name Africa on Fire Ministries. We have overcome so much, we quickly got over the fact that American hygiene is no more. We let go of our pasts. We have conquered sickness. We have witnessed people be healed of disease. We have cast out demons. We have grown spiritually so much. And none of this is possible except through Christ. During our work days we helped build the church and his garage. We re-painted the bars on his windows, the window sills, and one of the rooms. On our free days we hit the city. And just incase you were wondering, they have KFC. But beware crossing the road while biting into your mouth water piece of chicken. They drive on the opposite side of the road. So when you are used to looking left before you step onto the road make sure they aren’t coming from the right. When we weren’t enjoying KFC we found a very nice hotel with wi-fi that you could pay $10 for 240 hrs of internet. After our second time we found out that the internet was reserved for hotel guests only and were politely kicked out by the manager. There were a few times we went to the beach. Blake and I even got Adventure pants made from fabric we bought at a kapulana store which were designed by our teammate Ellie. Maputo you will be missed and in my prayers. Before I go I want to ask a favor of you. My leaders Andy Elkins and Carmella Nicholson both need there funds for the trip. They found out they would be going on this trip just weeks before camp so they didn’t have much time to fundraise. You can give to Carmella by clicking of the donate or support me button on her page carmellanicholson.theworldrace.org and you can give to Andy the same way you game to my trip. Go to Adventures.org go to donate and choose the Passport trip. Lastly Thank you all so much for the support and prayers. the kingdom of God has definitely grown because of it. Bye for now. I love you all!
