The forming of a team seems pretty simplistic; you send in application, you get accepted, and you are placed into a team of people who did the same. But it’s so much more than that. These girls arrived at training camp and met a group of 10 complete strangers. Strangers that expect more honesty, openness, and transparency with each other than they have been with anyone else. Strangers that they now have to spend the next four months doing life and ministry with. Strangers that become family. We all come ready. Ready to serve, to grow, and to change.
I am overwhelmed by the goodness of the Lord this week.
He has just shown Himself time and time again to be faithful and sovereign. It is so evident to both Hannah and I that each of us was placed on this team for a specific purpose. All these girls are beautiful. Inside and out. And each one comes offering a specific gifting or talents that adds so much to who we are as a family. “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10
These girls, above everything else, are worshippers. Worshippers who use the gifts the Lord has blessed them with to bless others and glorify their Savior. I have seen it already in just the few days I have spent with them and I cannot wait to see how the Lord uses them when we arrive in Africa.
