ABC’s: Next time Kenya sing with me?

Well, TIA (This is Africa).  The power just went out for the second time in the internet cafe we’re in and I lost my almost-completed blog again. I won’t have as much detail as I was originally planning, so have some fun in using your imagination. 🙂  Here are the ABC’s of Kenya!

A- Adventure. Went Rock/Mountain Climbing.
B- Babies. Held babes and prayed for them in the hospital.
C- Chipati and Carbs. It’s been a pretty carb-ful diet, and yes, it is possible to get sick of chipati.
D- D-train. No explanation necessary, ha.
E- Evangelism. I’m learning so much about boldness!
F- Family Time. I love my team.
G- God is Good.    All the time, and all the time, God is good. I cling to that.
H- Hospital.  What an intensely beautifully hard ministry.
I- Interdigitation. Lots of hand shaking and holding around her.
J- Jam-out. Rockin’ out with the girls, good stuff.
K- King Jesus Faith Ministry. This is our host church; they bless us abundantly!
L- Lion King. Although not truly a Kenyan movie, fun to think about and SING!
M- Markets. Love them: so much fresh fruit and veggies for CHEAP.
N- Nature. Sunrises, trees, plants, flowers, mountains- beautiful.
O- Organic Peanut Butter.  Protein, Yummm.
P- PikiPiki. Motorcycles that cruise to our far ministry spots.
Q- Quiet Time.  Kind of. Quiet time is hard to find in community and in Africa, but it’s so good.
R- Rooftop. This one gets more explanation because it’s my FAVE. In our security-guarded compound (yes, we are so blessed here!), we have an old building that have stairs up to the roof. We watch sunrises, sunsets, thunderstorms, clouds while dancing, worshipping, singing, sitting, praying: simply the best.
S- Schools.  We’ve only done one day of school ministry here and that’s always interesting to see the difference of education around the world.
T- Tea. Love it, drink it at breakfast and before bed. Yummm.
U- Uganda. One fun thing about being on Expeditions is getting to move around countries. However, almost everything in Kenya has been compared to Uganda. Although close in geography, the cultures definitely have differences.
V- Videos. Can’t wait to show them to you all.
W- Worship. Africans can WORSHIP!  Youth go until 3 am, the leaders take a quick nap, and then morning devo starts at 5.
X- Xylophone.  By that I mean piano, but let’s be honest: X’s are hard to think of.  I’ve been to a few churches where I’ve gotten to play piano and it’s SO GOOD. Love it.
Y- Yesu.  Swahili for “Jesus”. The best.
Z- Zebra.  This is for all the wildlife that I have yet to see, but still have hope to!

Well, that’s it!  No picture, but just imagine me standing on top of a rock looking victorious with a beautiful sky and green valley around me.  Keep praying for Expeditions 2!
