My paradise – Tanzania

I have fallen in love with a country. I can't even begin to describe how much joy I have in being in Tanzania. I LOVE IT HERE.  The landscape of jungle and green everywhere is breathtaking and fills you happiness. The people here are just so full of excitement and adventure. Everyone from in the city to the jungle bush never seem to not have huge smiles on their faces.  As we drove across the border and into Tanzania from Kenya I kid you not I knew without a doubt that this was the place for me. And did I mention we have BEDS which we share 3 people to a bed, and BUCKET...

Perfect Worship

Worship. It’s a funny thing. I thought my home church’s music was pretty loud. I thought our prayers during church were reasonably passionate. I’d never been in an African church. The contemplation of worship hit a few days ago. Out team rode in one matatu to a village outside of Moshi. (It was a perfect jungle, complete with abundant banana trees, little streams, and women carrying bundles of things on their heads.) Our purpose: to share with the locals about a crusade happening that night. Okay. That’s normal. After a yummy lunch (eaten with my fingers =D)...

Not really sure… but Lovin it!

It hasn't been too long since our last time to blog so I am not really sure what to write about. I have had so many new experiences on this trip but, we have only been here in Moshi, Tanzania for a week. So far it has been better than I had ever imagined. We all feel like we have come to a new continent because of how different it is from the bush. Coming from where it was dry as a desert, had no communication, low on water supply, and being outside the entire month. To a place of beautiful green jungles and right outside of town where the...

The Change in My Life.

I came to Africa and I was so excited for the work God was going to do through me. I never expected God to work so thoroughly in my life. God has been comforting me, changing me, testing me and rewarding me with His blessings. I can honestly say it has not been easy, but it has been so rewarding and because of that I praise God.             God has been so good to me. In my moments of doubt and frustration He is patient with me. I feel His love and encouragement even when I am too stubborn to admit that He is what I need. Ultimately,...

The Transition

Wow how I love Tanzania!     Ever since we crossed then border from Kenya to Tanzania I have been filled with joy. The bush was amazing and I learned so much especially about myself but something about being here in Moshi Tanzania just fills me with joy.       Maybe its the amazing home that we are staying in with beds and electricity, the beautiful landscape, the new types of ministry, our fresh fruit at every meal (tons or watermelon and bananas),the mamas that cook and do our laundry for us,...

We Gotta Let the Light Shine

"We are the light of the world We are the city on a hill We are the light of the world We gotta, we gotta, we gotta let the light shine" -Kari Jobe      Scientifically, there is no such thing as darkness, did you know that? When you walk into a room with no windows, you're not in darkness, simply a room with no light.       That's sometimes what it feels like when we go into ministry. We enter places that aren't really spiritually dark, there just isn't anyone to bring lightness to it. Last Friday and Saturday, we visited a...
