JESUS HEALS THE CHILDREN

Last week we did hospital ministry… I hate hospitals in America so you can only imagine how I felt in a hospital in Kenya. I will spare you the details but in short it was horrifying. Yet I knew that the Lord was using us and that our prayers were not going unheard. I prayed for a lot of people and somewhere in there prayed for a young boy, no older than 2, that was very sick. I wasnt positive as to what he was sick with because his mothers english was not the best but I just prayed healing upon him in Jesus Christ’s name and then left. To be honest I didnt think much about him...

Rico.

“For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality and accepts no bribes. He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the alien..” – Deuteronomy 10:18   Rico. Rico is a beautiful baby girl. She is no more than 3 months old. My pour journal is probably tired of me taking my frustration, heartache, disappointment, and just plain anger out on it. But, I’m frustrated people! I mean, let’s be real here. Africa is NOT all butterflies and sunshine. It’s a whole lot of dirt, sickness, gross smelling, nasty old men. And, I don’t say any of this out of spite or hatred. I say it because it’s...

Words are Futile. Irritation more so.

These lovely Kenyans firmly believe that “Eric the Leader” has something to say, anytime there is some sort of formal function.  Some days, I don’t.  I do not enjoy speaking when I have no conviction or passion behind the words I say.  Yesterday was one of those days where I would have rather kept my mouth shut.  Unfortunately, that was not what God had in mind.  It was not what He had in mind when we visited a church that expected me to introduce the team to the congregation and share why we were there.  It was not what He had in mind...
