Peace!

So long Uganda! It’s been swell but a challenge as well!   Just some pics:      A little bungee jumping.            Africa.    Modeling.    Little Children. And Eric. And Kaleb creeping.    Lake Victoria. One of those boats is sinking.   Psalm 16:11 “In Your presence there is fullness of joy”   Here comes Kenya! My prayer is that His peace fills us to the brim, despite the challenges that lie ahead.

Toodle-lu, Mzungu!

Here I sit in an internet café in Uganda, knowing this is my last day in this country.  Whenever we walk down the street, the children yell or sing, “Bye, mzungu!”  “Mzungu” is the word they use here for any foreigner- or white person. I don’t think I will ever get sick of their little voices telling us goodbye and as we actually leave Uganda, I take their sweet faces with me. The Lord has taught me so much in the past few weeks; I am so grateful! I came to Africa Expecting to have my heart broken and to share God’s love with those who...

Treasuring Riches

“Humility and the fear of the Lord bring wealth and honor and life.” Proverbs 22:4 When I’m out on the field encountering joyful souls daily, I see how this verse is completely true. Often times I spend my afternoons with children and families who have close to nothing, but they do have something- they have joy. The past couple of weeks in Uganda we have been working with Cornerstone Ministry. This is a church full of people who may not come with a lot of physical means but with much love and praise for God despite the season they are in. A lot of the families are...

Moving on already?

Wow we are almost done here in Uganda!! Time is flying by so fast. Two weeks doesn’t even seem like two days here. But God has done wonderful things in this short time. He has given us the most wonderful people to work with, the best host family you could ask for, and crazy insight into who we are and what we are all here for.            I don’t want to leave Uganda already but I know God has plans for us in Kenya, and Tanzania also. But in this short time of being here in Uganda i have made new friends....
