He’s been waiting for me..

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  1 Corinthians 13:4-7 This verse has been on my heart for the last few days and I absolutely love it! I’ve heard and read over this more times than I can count but lately I’ve tried extra hard to apply it my to life.  This describes God’s love for us. His love is all of...

Love

We all need, long, desire, and strive for the feeling of being loved. Whether that feeling of being loved is from a hug, pat on the back, kiss on the forehead, being held or just holding hands. As humans we all long for that. Many of the children here in Uganda don’t even know what it really means to be loved. A lot of the children are orphans or their parents are sick or once they turn five they start having to look after the younger siblings. When I look at the children here I can see their longing to be loved. Coming here to Uganda I knew that God was going to use me to love on...

Month 1

Our time here in Uganda is almost up. We have moved around to 3 different locations in the last month. I’m just going to tell you a little bit about them all. We started in Tororo, then Kwapa, now we are in Malaba.   Our first 10 days we were in Tororo, Uganda. We stayed in a compound about 7 minutes from town. The kids we got to play with right outside our compound were amazing! I loved just going out there and playing games with them and singing songs with them! One little boy named Ivan always called me Obama because Obama’s wife is Michelle. Others here have called me...

My Beautiful Brothers

We had our first rain since we’ve been here. Of course me and my team mates had an epic dance party and sang some crazy worship songs as we all jumped around in the pouring african rain. It was something we were all waiting for, for a very long time, so to finally get it was a huge blessing and really refreshing after being in the hot sun all morning.  It was just yesterday that we got a chance to go to all four of the clinics here in Malaba, Uganda. While we were there we got the wonderful blessing of just going and praying over the sick and also having such a even greater...

Thorn in my side

So, there were a few days where my fire for God just flatlined. I asked God to break me. by asked I mean, spent all evening crying out to God, I begged, pleaded, demanded God to wreck my life. I wanted to be desperate for Him. I wanted to be beaming with love for Him. I wanted to be on fire for Him. Its like I’m standing on a chair with a noose around my neck. I asked God to kick the chair out from under my feet because I wanted to find myself standing on the solid rock of Christ. Struggling, I read a letter from Alex Willer who reminded me, even when I fail God, He wont fail...

Which way to go?

Go before me. Prepare the way. Sometimes door to door ministry can be stressful. Sometimes the language barrier causes communication confusion. This is actually the case most of the time. Other times you get caught in the circle of excuses. I am catholic, my husband will beat me, it is not my time. All of these are disheartening reasons because from the outside you know what they need, what you want them so much to have, the experience that gets you through the day and the reason you get up in the morning. You want them to know and experience the goodness, the mercy and the never ending...
