UPS delivery men… for Jesus

—–This is WILLIAM BOSTWICK blogging with Lindsay’s username—– This is my first blog so far! I have had such an incredible learning experience with the Lord ever since we arrived in this country. The first week in Uganda we were in a rural village called Kwappa. There was no electricity, no roads, no running water, no anything really. It was just a farming community spread out over the rolling green hills of Uganda, where people eat what they grow in their front yards, and live in mud/straw huts. And this is where our ministry began. Each morning we would...

God Works In Mysterious Ways

Its been two weeks now for our team in Uganda, and we’re heading to Kenya later today, for the Massi tribe!  But lets talk about what God did in Uganda, I could go on and on about the miraculous things God did and is still doing, but I can only pick one thing because i don’t have much time.  Well when we first got into Uganda we had to drop the other team off into the town of tororo, where they were going to be staying for 1 week, so our team got out with them and talked for a while, then prayed for eachother, then we parted ways.  When our team got to where we...

Counting the Cost (Muba’s Story)

Chemongesi Mubaraka is a nineteen year-old living in Tororo, Uganda. Mubaraka is a typical lower-class Ugandan youth. He works to help support his parents. He cannot afford education. He worries about his future. I met Mubaraka a few days ago. Lindsay, Megan, Keith, and I were going door-to-door sharing the Gospel and encouraging believers. Mubaraka was standing outside of a small shop on the outskirts of a residential neighborhood. We spoke to Muba for a few minutes and learned that he was Muslim. Muba shared with us that, in his eyes, Jesus and...

joy, joy, unspeakable joy

Back from “the bush”! AKA, Kwapa village and Morekebu church, and back in Tororo for one week until Kenya. Etched in my heart are the Ugandan children from the village. One of the little girls we met was Mercy, who couldn’t have been more than four years old with a sassy spirit and gorgeous eyes. A few days ago I was in the shade trying to escape the heat, and I saw her chasing butterflies around the hut. In the midst of a long day, watching a child errupt in laughter and chase the butterflies in the sun made me think of my own joy – of all the kids I’ve...

An honored, humbled evangelist

On Thursday, I was sitting in the “living room” talking with our host pastor and other pastors in Morekebu. They were insisiting that we come back to their village. Each one asked for our email addresses and demanded that we keep in touch. Pastor Francis began to tell me how much it meant for the team to be there. Never before had missionaries, especially white people, gone to that village. The people were willingly accepting Christ because we are proof that Christianity is a worldwide belief, not a conjured up story that’s only in Uganda. He said, unfortunately, that the...

Lord, I trust You…Or do I??

Lord, I trust You…or do I?   Just 3 nights into ministry in the Morekebu village this past week, we were woken up by moaning. I thought it would stop or decrease, but it didn’t. Should I go investigate the problem? Is it culturally acceptable to see if my host is okay? What if I embarrass her? These are the questions that plagued my mind for at least 15 minutes. Finally, I got up and walked to her room to check on her. When I walked in, I immediately knew we had to pray. I checked with the other girl in the room to see if it was okay for us to pray over her. She agreed....
