“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the POWER OF GOD….For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength….God chose the FOOLISH things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the WEAK things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the LOWLY things of this world and the DESPISED things-and the things that ARE NOT-to nullify the things that are.” 1 Corinthians 1:18,15,27-28
I do not need to be afraid. I do not need to fear going back home. I do not need to fear people who may try and hurt me or who may try and take away my freedom. I only FEAR GOD. I will be bold. Yes I am weak and not wise but I am powerful in God. I was once told by someone that I was not a desirable person. At the time, that statement tore me apart. Lie after lie from the devil came at me and I believed them. Looking at this passage though, I am thankful for what that person said. I do not want to be desirable in man’s eyes but in the eyes of God! I am not desirable to man? Good! “You are not a desirable person but you are always desirable in Christ!” Good! God uses the lowly and the despised! I believe God will use me for good. I believe He will use to create change. I will bring His kingdom to earth. I will continue to strive to be desirable in the eyes of God and foolish in the eyes of man. I strive to be weak in order that God’s strength be shown. I strive to be foolish in order than God’s wisdom be shown. I strive to be lowly in order that God’s power be shown. I will continue to show that I AM NOT so that God can then say, “It is okay because I AM!” I AM NOT but I know I AM!
