Even As I Am Fully Known

When I began to write this blog, I was going to write about one of the awesome encounters with God that I have experienced in east Africa this summer. God has worked miracles on this trip, and revealed Himself to me in mighty ways: in the bush outside of Nanyuki, Kenya while going “west”, through a Java House auditor named Kaisine, in the heart of a night guard in Nairobi who asked the simple question of  “Why would Jesus weep?” and many more. God has been moving. This sounds vague, doesn’t it? I intended on telling the story of the aforementioned night guard, but when I saw the story displayed on the computer monitor, something did not feel right. It is one of the most amazing things I have ever been a part of, and for some reason my words just cannot do the story justice. Maybe my good friend, Charlie Smith, who shared the experience with me, can find words articulate enough to convey the story in the manner in which it demands to be conveyed. As for me, I won’t confine the story to a hastily-written blog. If I tried, I would be selling God short. The blog would float around the internet, maybe a few people would even read it. It would always be a blog, and nothing more. Decayed and forgotten, the story would die off just as quickly as it was brought to the artificial life that we call cyberspace.

Back home, I’m sure I will tell the story to countless family members, friends, and church groups. So stay tuned, America; however, I will let you know right now that no matter how amazing you find the story, I’m afraid that still you just won’t get it. To be able to appreciate these testimonies as more than mere stories, you have to live them, feel them.
