Finding a Home

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to PROCLAIM good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to PROCLAIM freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.” Isaiah 61:1.

When I read this scripture over my life, I honestly fear God. He is the Maker of Heaven, King of Kings, Most High, and he has chosen me… of all people!

I’m anointed to proclaim good news. I’m anointed to proclaim freedom for captives. To know that God trusts me to be his hands and feet absolutely humbles me.

Notice that the scripture doesn’t say “in Africa.” Just like I am anointed here, I am anointed at home as a Christian. My home, GET READY, isn’t in Kentucky. This is the most profound revelation that God has shown me on this trip.

My home is anywhere that I feel secure as a Son of God in His embrace. I’ve realized that whether I physically live in Manhattan, New York, Kings Mountain, Kentucky, or Zomba, Malawi, I’m at home when I am in my Father’s Embrace!

A Father’s Embrace has been my prayer for many of the people that I’ve shared these past few weeks with. There  was a group of teenage boys that I connected with that hold the future of Chimutu Village in their hands. I have prayed and declared in the Name of Jesus that they find their home.

Being able to so clearly acknowledge their Father’s Embrace can be the everlasting hope for Chimutu Village – the village that my team invested our first week in Malawi into. On Sunday, January 27th my team assisted God and Pastor Harvey in planting a church in this village. Please pray God’s provision over that church!

On Tuesday, January 29th my team traveled six hours from Lilongwe to Zomba, Malawi. For the next three weeks my team will be ministering here alongside Pastor Gama, who is our host. On February 22nd my team will then be heading to Tanzania for a month of ministry.

Just as the revelation of finding a home, Father’s Embrace, could be the hope for Chimutu Village, it has also given me freedom over stress about my plans for the near future. I know that it doesn’t matter where I go or what I do, as long as I feel secure as a Son of God in my Father’s Embrace then I am home!

I pray that this revelation God has given me can shine some light on the dark areas in your life. I pray that you will find your home – that you will feel secure as a Son/Daughter of God in your Father’s Embrace.

Fear God. Live Humbly. Be blessed.
