Hey everyone! I’m just giving you a heads up from training camp. Today’s the day before our 20+ hour flight–the flight that is the last thing standing between me and Africa. I can honestly say that I have not experienced a more drawn out three day period! It feels like we’ve spent three weeks here in the woods of Georgia. It’s definitely tested my patience, but more than that, it’s tested my faith.
I will be honest when I say that I was a bit skeptical of how I’d fit in with this “very Christian” environment… or at least I just thought it would be “very Christian, very religious. With that said, I can now say that assuming makes an A** out of U and ME. I was quite shocked with how open AIM’s philosophy is. It made me realize that Jesus is the ultimate symbol of FREEDOM! Not rules!! Jesus is the ultimate symbol of LOVE! of ACCEPTANCE! And as I’ve been bitter about the “Christians” who continually miss those points, I’ve been the one who has not opened my eyes to see that none of people I’m with in this training camp have missed these very important points. I thank God for that.
Hundreds, and soon to be thousands, of miles away from my bed, my family, I feel at home.
