God Gave us Armor: Let’s Use it

Something took me aback in Revelation a few weeks ago. Jesus was talking to the angel of the church in Laodicea when He said, “I know that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm -neither hot nor cold – I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” (Revelation 3:15-16.) To think that Jesus would prefer us to be cold rather than lukewarm was an awakening for me. Since then, verses about the fight that we are in have stuck out to me.

We are warned in 2 Timothy 4:3 about people in the last days, that they will be “having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.” Going to a country, (Swaziland), where spiritual warfare is so obvious this takes on a whole new meaning. We have been given power and authority over EVERYTHING the devil wants to try and throw at us. We have the same Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the grave LIVING in us. The same Spirit that healed the blind, the leprous, the lame, that brought the dead to life is IN US. We need to wake up and grasp this. That nothing the devil does can ever even stand against us because we are holy sons and daughters.

We need to recognize that there is a battle raging in this world. “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (Ephesians 6:12) We need to be arming ourselves. We need to not be growing a relationship with God that is devoid of the power He has given us. We are in a war every day. God did not give us armor to wear, (Ephesians 6: 13-17), if He did not want us to FIGHT.

And as a side note, maybe because it’s just something I can struggle with, we don’t have to be good at speaking to fight. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 2:4 that “My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power…”

We cannot be lukewarm anymore.

Several members of our team feel as if God is preparing us to experience Him in a radical way this coming month, namely in physical healing. He has been working in our hearts and allowing us to realize the power that we have because the Spirit is in us. This being said, prayer, (and fasting), for discernment of the Holy Spirit’s voice in our team this coming month would be very appreciated. Let us fight together and let the Kingdom of God rain down on this earth.
