Here are 10 ways in which my expectations (whether conscious or not) have been not just altered, but shattered, in my 27 days on this trip.
1. God works in spite of me, and it’s only through the Spirit working in me that I am of any use at all.
2. African food is actually really yummy (well, most of the time)
3. I’m not sick of anyone in my group (yet) 🙂
4. God doesn’t call us to be comfortable.
5. Just because I came with the sole purpose of pouring into people doesn’t mean that I can’t be completely poured into.
6. God’s kingdom is huge.
7. God is huge.
8. Squatty potties aren’t the worst thing in the world.
9. The Holy Spirit can work in a million ways.
10. Nothing about God can fit into an American-sized box.
