In the Eyes of a Broken Spirit I found Jesus

I think it’s safe to say that even in my Christian faith I have still been on the search for Jesus or a Jesus encounter. It’s so funny because I keep expecting to encounter Him in the most traditional places such as church, christian events, etc… (Don’t get me wrong now, I believe that the presence of God is in such settings and I am thankful for it.) However I also believe that Jesus is a street/ bush dweller. Why? Because I saw His face in a way  will never forget. WE got into the bush on a Saturday. I was excited but at the same time not so excited. (P.S. to all of my friends and family, I totally have a weave. Holla, Don’t hate or I’ll sick the Maasai Warriors on ya. They are fierce.)There was something in me that was holding me back. I would say that fact that I was about to sleep in a desert with lions, hyenas and lost of other scary creatures we encountered that I won’t mention for mom’s sake. My heart started to lighten after we rested from our long.(Oh ya I totally trekked through the African Bush and I am now a little bit more hardcore than I was) My spirit knew something big was about to happen. Even in the midst of all of the spiritual warfare my spirit was jumping for joy. On about the seventh day of ministry we witnessed to a group of men out in the bush. I had the honor pf sharing the gospel with these men. In about the middle of my small sermon I looked up and stared into the eyes of an elderly man sitting across from me… My entire being shivered… “Jesus.” I saw Jesus in the eyes of a broken spirit.. I don’t know if this man was saved or not  and none of the men we witnessed to prayed to receive Christ. But I heard my Savior say, ” I am here,Beloved. I never left you and I never will. I delight in you, I love you.” It was at the moment that I realized that Jesus brought me to Africa to find Him. Africa was never about leading people to Christ as much as it was about finding my identity in Him. My encouragement to you is to keep your eyes open. Christ dwells among the least of these. He is among the beggers that we turn away. He is among the orphans that just want our time to play. He is among the Christian’s who’s faith has faded away. And He is among the sinners looking for hope and a way…

” The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness the prisioners…”

Isaiah 61:1

Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is Liberty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
