It’s not over

Our month in Kenya was extraordinary.  The people we stayed with and worked alongside of were some of the most genuine, caring, beautiful people on the planet, I'm convinced.  Maasai land is beautiful, the people are wonderful, and the culture is colorful.  The girls that make up our team are so loving and have the biggest hearts.  Leaving was hard because we lived so much life with our "family" there.  It was also strange because it felt like something was ending, but our trip is not even halfway over.

When we first drove across the border into Tanzania I was a little worried, because one of the first sights that greeted us were these whirlwinds of dust:

If there had been one thing I had been hoping would be different about our time in Tanzania, it would have been that there would be less dust.

Luckily, as we drove further in, the landscape became more and more tropical and less and less dusty (I can't seem to upload more pictures today, but they'll come soon).  It reminds me a lot of Nicaragua.  Plus we saw Mount Kilimanjaro!  We got to Moshi around 4 on Tuesday and moved into our HOUSE!  Where we have BEDS!  And we can take BUCKET SHOWERS!  We also met Pastor Costa and some Mamas who will be helping cook for us and doing laundry for us.

This is such a beautiful place, and we have already been so blessed by the people we have met so far.  As blessed as we were to have such a wonderful month in Kenya, I know that God has even more for us here in Tanzania!  As sad as it was to leave our Maasai friends, I'm really excited to be starting something new.  God's not done with us, and He's not done with East Africa.  We left Kenya, but God is still there, just like He's here with us.

"I thank my God every time I remember you.  In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."  Philippians 1:3-6

God started something during that month in Tiemamut, Kenya, and it's not over.  Not in us, and not in our partners in the gospel there.  God is faithful, and He is present, living, and active no matter where we go.
