Little summary of a Kenya Experience

So it's been a month…..in the wilderness of Kenya. And let me tell you it's been a learning experience already- from learning how to master the squatty to giving words of encouragement to strangers. As difficult as its been at times I wouldn't trade a second in Kenya for the world.
The joy and hearts of the Kenyan people are impossible to describe. It's so inspiring to witness the great joy and peace these people get from leading such simple lives. I feel incredibly blessed to have lived with the Maasai tribe for a month. WHO does that?! We did.
Here's a little summary of the things my heart already aches for :

-seeing elephants in the early morning c
-eating chapatti 7 times a week
-eating dinner around ad campfire every night
-playing tag with my Kenyan boys (more like me just chasing them- remember Kenyan runners in the Olympics)
-hearing the laugh of hyenas at night
-sharing a tent with someone who makes me cry with laugher 24/7 (shout out to Chaunseen Baker)
-2 to 5 daily mile walks …except for those occasional 100000 mile walks
-seeing hurds of zebras while riding on the back of a piki-piki
-chai tea 3 times a day
-cabbage, beans, and rice
-Mama Agnes' cooking
-going crazy for anything sweet at the market
-nightly tent-talks with team-
-Hope's cat jokes.
-love of my life 11-yr old Benedict
-my best friends become tween African boys
-saying "supa" a zillion times a day
-"jumbo Kenya!" radio. At 4AM.
-4-hour African church
-Kenyan sunsets.
-yoga in the bush
-counting bug bites on each other
-roo's guitar 24/7
-goat/rooster wakeup calls
-star gazing
-washing hair in a bucket of dirty water and LOVIN it
-laughing at Maasai weddings
-crying at a Maasai funeral
-Kenya feeling like a home

I am in love with this place. I am in love with all 13 girls on my team. I am in love with this experience. Kenya will always hold a very specific place in my heart.

Tanzania get ready for a storm of 14 wild female mzungus!

Also: apparently I resemble Obama because 3 different Maasai men have pointed out the fact that I look like him. Du to the fact that I am a 19yr old blonde pale girl it's been quite amusing.
