Yesterday marked the end of our first week living in Tiemamut, Kenya with the Maasai people, and what a week it has been! We've walked a LOT, seen some African animals (and a LOT of goats), eaten some new foods, made new friends, and experienced the Lord's goodness and faithfulness in so many ways. Elizabeth and I are in town today to get more food and water [sorry parents, the girls still won't have internet access until the end of the month], so I asked the girls to give me a sentence or so each to describe our time here so far:
	Jenni
I had the option of having 14 husbands.
	Christy
	I'm a certified goat midwife.
	Roo
I have fallen in love with a Maasai warrior.
	Nikki
Kenya: Big brown eyes, Elephants, the stars, and CHAPATI!!!
	Aimee
Don't worry mom, I still have chores here.
	Allie
	I'm learning Maasai.  Mayolo oleng.
	Tess
The Maasai children are now certified in the "watermelon clap" >:) muahahaha
	Jenna
Life lesson 1: Don't look down the squatty potty.
Life lesson 2: Do check the ground for goat poo before sitting.
Life lesson 3: Elephants walk with the wind.
	Kelli
I found my baby. He's black and white all over.  Follows me around and suckles on my neck.
	[leader's note: he's also a goat. haha.]
	Abby
Finally my resemblance to Barack Obama has been recognized by the Maasai men…3 different Maasai men. (FYI I'm a pale blonde girl.)
	Chaunseen
	This is the Goat life………
We've been incredibly blessed to spend the last week with wonderful people. We've had beautiful weather and good health and I know the next few weeks here are going to be amazing. We're looking forward to filling you all in on our adventures and maybe unpacking a few of these quick updates a little bit (and also to those showers Rachel mentioned…)!
