Hello all from Uganda!
Uganda is great! So extremely different from Kenya! we are staying in an amazing HOME with SHOWERS and BEDS!! It is fantastic! I am being stretched every day by the faith of all of the people around me. We go to the school everyday to either teach, correct papers, or play games with the kids.
This week the church decided to do a 7 day fast, and we also got to help in Bible study to talk about people fasting and being devoted to prayer. I really felt the Lord leading me to fast for one day so yesterday I did a fast. I wasn't sure why, but I decided to follow His lead. I had been struggling a lot with having a positive, thankful attitude and I wasn't sure where that was coming from. But last night I realized that that was why i was on the fast. Throughout the day I was realizing that my strength doesn't come from food, people, or anything around me, but only from God. He truly does satisfy no matter what the surroundings are. Nehemiah 10:8 says "The joy of the Lord is my strength." I feel like God has filled me up again with His joy and His Spirit and I don't have to worry if I have any problems or hunger or anything at all because I am completely filled with His love and joy! Don't let experiences around you take away your God-given joy! He is ALWAYS willing to fill you up with His strength which is greater than anything else in this world!
I am also realizing through experiences here that we have the FREEDOM and CONFIDENCE through Christ to come to the Father at any time. Nothing can separate us from that! We also have the authority given by God to cast out demon in the incredibly powerful name of JESUS! The demons run and flee at the mention of Your Name King of Majesty! We had an all night prayer and worship that a few of us went to. It was an amazing time with the Lord. You could literally FEEL the presence and power of the LORD! 🙂 It was so amazing! Jace actually had the chance to pray for man who was possessed and after about 5 minutes of prayer in the name of Jesus the demon left praise the Lord! It is through many experience like this that I am learning the incredible power of Jesus name! Philippians 2 says that every knee with bow down to the name of Jesus. Jesus is power!
One thing that I cannot leave out is my experience with the children. They are starting to call all of us by name now, and they call me Daniella. They are so precious and worship the Lord like i have never seen! One girl named Patricia calls me her mother and she runs to greet me every time we pull up to the school. It has been an amazing experience to hear the children's stories and be with them for the time that we are here. Time has already flown by, but I am so thankful for what we have been doing here and for God's faithfulness to us!
