PRAISE NOT PANIC

“You heard my voice say GO and you ANSWERED. Now I say BE STILL and you are still trying to ANSWER.”

This was a very bold statement that I received from God recently. It’s true. He called me to Africa and I responded by going to Africa. Now that I’m in Africa, He wants me to be still in His Presence.

I spent time in His Word this morning reading Matthew Chapter 14. Verse 30 tells us of Peter walking on the water, “But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

It’s so easy to just read over that verse as Oh, Peter must have been scared, but Jesus saved him so he’s fine. For the first time this morning I read it and thought HE ALMOST DIED!

Peter was touching nose with death, “so he thought,” and he began to panic. In reality, God knew what he was doing with Peter. He knew before that day about Peter’s near death experience that would come soon.

He also knew long before I was born that He would be sending me to Africa these four months of my life. He knew that I would have a problem being still in His presence. What really comforts me is knowing that God has planned my tomorrow.

What is really awesome for me to share is that He knows your tomorrow. He has planned your tomorrow for many years now. With this being said, I want to share that my biggest struggle while being here is that I don’t know my tomorrow.

I find that I must be still in His presence. I need to praise God for what He has already done and not panic about what is yet to come.

This is my prayer for you, that you will PRAISE God for what He has already done and not panic about what is yet to come.

My team is leaving Malawi in a few hours for an overnight bus ride to Tanzania. We will spend two weeks there and then head to Uganda, where we will spend our last two months in Africa. Thank you all for your prayers!

Fear God. Live Humbly. Be Blessed.
