Uncomfortable

I have entered into a life where taking a shower is a treat. Where my tent is absolutely infested by fleas. Where bread and butter is the new normal. Where my feet haven’t been clean in 3 weeks. Where African music blasts all night long by the neighbors next door. Where the power goes out more times than not in a week.

I have entered into a life where I have been constantly showered by God’s grace. Where I yearn for God to infest my heart. Where the Bread of Life fills me daily. Where I am being the feet of Jesus, reaching the nations. Where we worship Our Father all night long. Where in times of trial and hopelessness He is our light in the dark room.

If I only were to focus on my physical life in Mozambique I would have completely missed out on the growth and power on my spiritual life here. There’s something about not just wanting God, but needing Him. I have needed my Savior to fill me up with the presence of the Holy Spirit everyday. Living completely for Christ is not an easy life. Being a Christian is choosing a life that is uncomfortable.

Since the beginning of time, God has called His children to live out of their comfort zone. The love of Jesus Christ would not be spreading like wildfire throughout the world if missionaries were just comfortable. The American church would dwindle and die if our generation is just comfortable. The people of Mozambique would not be exposed to our Omnipotent Father is our team was just comfortable.

Change your perspective. Live the uncomfortable lifestyle. I promise it’s worth it.
