Made it to Keny

Hello family, friends, and supporters of the Expeditions teams. We wanted to let you know that the 2 teams did make it to Kenya on Sunday after a few long bus rides. They are in and around Bungoma, Kenya. They’re settling in and should be finding Internet soon. More blogs are on the way. Thanks for all the prayers and encouragement for these teams. -Passport Field Support team

Peace!

So long Uganda! It’s been swell but a challenge as well!   Just some pics:      A little bungee jumping.            Africa.    Modeling.    Little Children. And Eric. And Kaleb creeping.    Lake Victoria. One of those boats is sinking.   Psalm 16:11 “In Your presence there is fullness of joy”   Here comes Kenya! My prayer is that His peace fills us to the brim, despite the challenges that lie ahead.

First times the charm

Uganda has been great! It wasn’t at all what I was expecting, with us being right out side of the capitol city of Kampala.  I have had a lot of firsts on this trip already. I went rafting, bungee jumping, rode on the back of a motorcycle multiple times, put out a car fire with buckets of water, emptied my bowels into what is essentially an open septic tank, threw up multiple times outside of a chicken house, preached the gospel to people worshiping a tree, preached the gospel to Muslims, became a third grade teacher, and bathed with a bucket, just to name a few. Treasuring Riches

“Humility and the fear of the Lord bring wealth and honor and life.” Proverbs 22:4 When I’m out on the field encountering joyful souls daily, I see how this verse is completely true. The smell will be terrible.

“‘Roll the stone aside,’ Jesus told them. But Martha, the dead man’s sister, protested, ‘Lord, he has been dead for four days. The smell will be terrible.'”                                     ~John 11:39 NLT   For all of those who are unacquainted with an African ‘squatty potty’, the smell is terrible. For all who haven’t gone the last week in the Ugandan...

This computer is slow

It took this computer like 15 minutes to open this page, but that’s cool.  I’m in some internet cafe in Mbrara and there are cops outside with AK 47s and Shotguns.  God has been so good to my team while on this trip.  He really has been our refuge and our strength.  The first 2 days here we taught in school and then did soccer ministry in the evening.  The next day we did door to door evangelism and went to a hospital to pray over the sick.  By far the hospital was the craziest and hardest.  I saw a man in the closing moments of his life as he...
