Rush

I don’t even know where to start, this past 5 days have been the most exciting, adventurous days I have been given. To make a long and frequently told story short- I am going to AFRICA!  I have been in the states since the middle of May 2011 and have been wrestling with God as to when I’d be back on the field and back partnering with AIM. I visited Nicaragua (which was my home from Jan-May 2011 through AIM) this winter to see the ministry site I once called home. Since visiting my heart has been aching to do missions. I wasn’t really sure what this would look like...

I pray that they will be one

“I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one–as you in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.” John 17:20-21 When Jesus was in the garden, he asked that the Father would make us one. I’ve experienced that here at training camp more than anywhere else. I’ve seen it in our team as a whole. We don’t all think the same by far, but we all mesh together. We all have our strengths...

Power in Number

For the last three months Ive told myself that my team was the least important aspect of this mission trip. While I was prepared to grow close to this group of people through shared experiences, I never realized how quickly we would become brother and sister in Christ. This weekend has been very intense and has begun to prepare me for a summer full of change and adventure. I have seen God work and heard His voice more in the last 72 hours than in the last three months. I feel like this is because I am surrounded by young adults who are so thirsty so hungry for the Lord that they are...

Power in our footsteps

“The Kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power” 1 Corinthians 4:20 This verse has been pressing on me for these last couple days at camp. I wasn’t entirely sure why this resonated with me so strongly…of course we all believe that the Kingdom of God is about more than talking–that’s why we’re all here! A group of crazy college kids getting ready to walk in truth and spread truth. But I’ve seen this verse is about more than simply ‘walking the walk’, so to speak, but that, in walking, the power of God comes with us....

The beginning of the rest of my life

Training camp has been as amazing experience! I had no idea what this part of the trip was going to look like but it has trulyset me in efire for what we will be doing in Africa. I have seen the Lord working in so many ways. The worship is just incredible and inspiring and unlike anything I have ever experienced. I have learned how o surrender all of my fears and worries and concerns and burdens, and how to truly open up to people. I am realizing how much I am in need of my savior and how completely broken I am without Him and I am loving every minute of it! I know that I have to be broken...
