Gift is a Dreamer

Gift is a dreamer.

I am always in constant questioning of why men and women like this are so few. My mind is always boggled after speaking with these brilliant people. Honestly I can never talk enough about them.

They are dreamers.

They are the undaunted.

Gift is this. A man with a dream. He was not just this, however. He is a man who truly lives and carries the hopes and dreams of a generation on his back without fear.

I met this man at a care point. He greeted me with a broad smile and a “hello my friend!” His joy was absolutely toxic. As Ellie, Daniel, and I instantly gravitated towards him, we abruptly interrupted his lunch before he had a chance to get his hands on it in hopes he may share his dreams with us. It only took us a few questions before we struck gold. He spilled his dreams in a whirlwind of feverishly spoken words to our open ears. It took me about five minutes into this conversation to realize he will change Swaziland, if not all of Africa in the process.

He happily put his untouched food down and eagerly spoke to us about his wild dreams. An engineer is what he is in school for now. Not just that, he is in a soccer academy as well. His dream is simple, to make a sports academy for children the ages of 15 years and under. This academy would teach them that they could be absolutely anything they wanted to be, then provide the steps and resources to get them to that point.

Gift had the nerve, to believe in his people, and the generation that follows him. He also expects the generation who follows him to be better and to do even greater things than he has or ever will do.

His words exactly; “I will not waste my life, and I will not let them waste theirs.” Gift has played professional soccer, is in school now, while also training in a professional soccer academy.

In his spare time he is applying for sponsors to get his dream of the soccer academy off the ground so the children of Swaziland may have hope. Hope that is in the name of Jesus, and the power of His Spirit.

Along with already organizing games and training the kids, Gift is also showing the love, hope, and power of our Lord and His Spirit. He has already spoken with carpenters asking them if they could come to the care point to teach the kids who wanted to become carpenters, some skills they would need. It was far to expensive to bring them there. The kids have no soccer cleats, no uniforms, nor shin guards. Gift would also love to take them outside of their community to play games, but does not have nearly the amount of money he would need to do this. He always tells the kids; “That soon enough they will have training cleats, practice cleats, game cleats as well! So many cleats they will not know what to do with all of them!” He told me all of this with the biggest, most resilient smile I have seen in a while.

He always kept mentioning how The Lord is faithful in manifesting and bringing to fruition the dreams He has placed in his heart.

To be completely blunt, “statistically” Swaziland is not  even supposed to exist in 50 years with the HIV/AIDS rate at what is it at now. However by the prayers of the righteous The Lord will eradicate that darkness by His mighty and matchless healing hand.

Now it is time to raise up a generation of men and women who chase the Lord’s face, instill justice, never tolerating corruption, always passionate, hopeful, graceful and compassionate.

Take this hope and run with it today. Believe and know absolutely anything is possible if you believe in The Lord and His mighty power.
