Dear
Family and Friends,
Thank
you so much for all of your prayers and support that you have
missions. God has moved so much in my life during this time in ways
I never thought possible. I have been able to travel to places and
meet people that I never knew existed. God has used me to share the
love of the Gospel with whole villages of people who have never heard
the name of Jesus before. I was able to love on orphans in India and
Swaziland. I experienced the joy of Christ in Thailand by looking
upon the faces of 80 girls saved from a life of sex trafficking. I
have been able to co-lead a team poured into my life especially over
that past year as I have been traveling overseas on of college
students to East Africa and watch as God transforms their worlds and
shows them what love really looks like.
Even
thought I am still in Africa until May 8th,
God has already set up the next season of my life. On May 18th,
I will be moving to Gainesville, GA to work with Adventures In
Missions (AIM), the organization which I have been traveling with
for the past year and a half. To start off I will be working at a
training camp for new World Racers on the 19th-26th.
My position will be in the Marketing/Recruiting Department. My main
job will be contacting local Christian groups/events (churches, youth
groups, college/young adult ministries, concerts, etc.) and setting
up times when my team and I will travel to the location and promote
AIM trips. A few times a year we will set up contacts with large
Christian events across the States and road trips to the events.
Along the way we will plan to stop anywhere we can and share about
the opportunities that AIM has to offer. I will also be under a
discipleship/apprentice program for 8 months.
Most
of all I will need your prayers during this time. This is a brand
new program that AIM is trying out. I am expecting God to show up in
big ways. AIM’s heart is to get youth and young adults active for
Christ by offering opportunities to travel all over the world and see
first hand the needs of God’s children and their ability to make a
difference by sharing the love of Christ with them. With the short
amount of time I have been with AIM I have seen so many lives changed
for the cause of Christ. Passion has been given to my fellow
teammates for the people that they have met during The World Race. A
few of them are in the process of moving overseas to continue working
with some of the ministries that we partnered with.
I
will also need your prayers and support to provide for this new
position. All of the staff at AIM are funded by supporters. As of
now my position is set up for 8 months. I will need to raise $1,500
a month to cover all of my expenses (housing, transportation,
insurance, food, etc.). If 50 people would pledge to give only $30 a
month for the next 8 month all of my expenses would be covered. That
would only be $240 over 8 months, which is also tax-deductible
through AIM. Anything that you could give would be more then
appreciated. Some prayer request towards this would also be locating
housing (I have some friends on staff asking around) and for a
reliable vehicle.
