Family and Friends,
Africa is absolutely beautiful, the scenery, weather, the people, culture, and much more.
(Words won’t fully express the beauty). I’m so joyful to be here! & extremely thankful, thanks again to all who have been supportive and encouraging! Glory is to God, for you and your giving hearts, I am deeply grateful. (It’s hard to believe it’s only been 2 weeks!!) I’ve already grown so much, growing and learning as God continues to open my heart and mind to His understanding. My heart continues to overflow for the suffering, aligning my desires with God’s desires, sharing His hope and love just as He has called me to do. Standing firm in faith, waiting upon the Lord to see what He has planned out for me and my team everyday as we put our trust in Him!
Update of the past two weeks…
Week One: Safe travels to Lilongwe, Malawi. The language spoken here is Chichewa. We stayed for a week at Mabuya which means gecko. Consequently, I realized why it was named that, since I would constantly see them crawl on the walls and ceilings! Mabuya was wonderful though; we slept in our tents for the week and got to enjoy a nice pool and running warm water! (So thankful)
Our ministry for the first week:
We worked with Pastor Harvey and Pastor Chancelous planting a church in the Chimutu Village (Chimutu means big head). Our days would start early until the evening; traveling to many villages in the hot sun, sharing the Love of Christ, and spreading the good news! It was an honor that we were welcomed by every Chief into all the villages we went too! Praise God; by sharing the gospel; Many chose the gift of salvation!! Then sadly but joyfully as Sunday came about (which was our last day in Chimutu) we had to prepare to say our goodbyes to all the wonderful people and children who now have a special place in our hearts. Most importantly the church in Chimutu was planted. Sunday’s service was wonderful; many had come to hear more about the word of God, to be a part of church body, worshipping and giving praise to God! Bittersweet goodbye…
Zomba here we goOoOooo!!
Week two: Safe travels to Zomba (6 hours from Lilongwe)
Beautiful landscapes (mountains everywhere) which we will be climbing and hiking!
We arrived at our next home for the next three weeks. We’re staying with mama and papa (Pastor Gama). They are so welcoming, loving, hard working, kind and caring, just as many people here are! It is so amazing to see people here and their strength, how very little they may have or how much they suffer or starve and yet never giving up. They suffer and are in need of hope and we are being the hands and feet of Jesus to bring them that Hope in Him; in their sufferings they can rejoice for we have an amazing savior!!
Our home here is very nice compared to most! I sleep on a concrete floor in a small room that I share with two of my other team mates (slightly bigger than my bathroom in America). There are cockroaches and aunts and mosquitoes to watch out for and other insects, ha-ha but, I don’t think that’s as bad as using the squatty potty! We have wonderful cooked meals every day, I’m so thankful for everything!
Be thankful always. In America we have so many comforts, that we shouldn’t take for granted what we have, but be thankful and content for all we have and the many blessings!
The weather for week two has been mostly rainy here, so we weren’t able to do many days of ministering, the days we have had we are sharing God’s word! Also, building our relationships with many people here in this area and the people of Pastor Gama’s church! Due to all this rain, we have been able to spend a lot of time with our team getting to know each other on a very deep level. We are growing strong as we form a great bond and open up to one another, praying, encouraging, sharing, and inspiring our brothers and sisters; being united with Christ! We know that God is preparing us for something big that are faith must be strong in Him, relying on him for strength!
“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.” –Ephesians 1:3
I am looking forward to what God has in store for this week and the many days to come! Excited to continue to see God move in my heart and others hearts and lives! When I am able to post another blog to update I will!
Friends and family,
Know that I am safe and in great hands (Gods hands!!)
I Love and Miss you all, Keep me in your prayers, as you are in mine. God Bless!
“Christ Will make His home in your hearts as you trust in Him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all Gods people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand full. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”- Ephesians 3:17-19
With Love,
Amber Lynn
