Unity

Family and Friends,                 Africa is absolutely beautiful, the scenery, weather, the people, culture, and much more.  (Words won’t fully express the beauty). I’m so joyful to be here! & extremely thankful, thanks again to all who have been supportive and encouraging! Glory is to God, for you and your giving hearts, I am deeply grateful.  (It’s hard to believe it’s only been 2 weeks!!) I’ve already grown so much, growing and learning as God continues to open my heart and...

Options

After really living African life for the past week in Zomba, Malawi, I've realized that we have so many options in America…options you don't even think about. First of all, we all automatically get free schooling. Many African families have to decide if they want to send a child to school, or eat. They have no extra Kwacha to spend on any other options…not like they have many other ones to begin with. Parents often have to make the tough decision of choosing only 1 or 2 out of their 6 children that will get educated. Some local siblings, Grenis and Gradson, are in that...

Bo, or Bobo?

First blog post. Yeah, I've been slackin'. I've just been soaking it all in, letting The Lord give a word for me to say. I was going to blog tomorrow, and I decided to open my notebook with notes a family member told me to read on specific dates, and today's had a little note, "Don't forget to blog." My life was changed in an instant, as I was greeted with the most welcoming of smiles, from...

Firsts

“Firsts” can be scary. Knowing you will face the unknown is so daunting.   When I stepped through the terminal for the first time ever onto the Airplane departing from Atlanta, my stomach flipped. I knew I’d love it, but my only fear was that I didn’t have control over the situation I was about to face.   “First” seems to be the word of the trip. I am slowly and sometimes reluctantly accepting that I will be uncertain of what to expect. The beauty of God’s perfect plan is that no matter what I feel or how much I know, His will...

Chimutu.

We have had an awesome first few days of ministry. Malawi is such an incredible place.    We are working with Harvesters International, helping with a church plant in a village called Chimutu. (meaning, Big Head) We have spent the last 3 days going to a few surrounding villages and inviting people to church on Sunday. But my favorite part has been building relationships with the amazing people in this village.    How blessed are we? That we have been sent to love these people? That WE get to witness the crazy, wonder working power of Jesus, firsthand? ...
