“Zikomo”

Zikomo= thank you…this is one of the only phrases that you can never go wrong with in Malawi. The language barrier makes ministry even more difficult, but our translators are helping us slowing, but surely learn simple phrases in Chichewa.  Today was our first full day of ministry! We've travelled to 3 different villages so far. In all three of those villages, the exact same thing happened as soon as we arrived: the villagers immediately went into their homes and brought out their benches, chairs and stools so that we were all comfortable. 38 down, 85,924 bites to go

After 42 hours of flying and waiting we are finally here! Thank the LORD! I have been waiting for what feels like forever to be here; and now I am with an amazing new family as well. We are already planning our first ministry work. God has asked us to go to a village, Zomba, on Wednesday and start spreading his word to the villagers. We will be there till Saturday and then Sunday will we plant a church! Ho amazing is this! We Made It!

white as snow

 It finally happened. I had my first real snow experience. Little white flakes falling from the sky. I looked out the Amsterdam terminal window in amazement.   It was absolutely beautiful. I sat in silence, not quite sure what to say, and the words "I have washed away your sins and you are as white and as clean as snow" echoed over and over in my head. I knew the words were from The Lord, because sadly I would never think these things about myself.   The past few days at training camp had been long, beautiful, painful, freeing steps. 12 hour wait in Atlanta airport  8 hour flight to Amsterdam  8 hour layover in Amsterdam  8.50 hour flight to Nairobi, Kenya  and the last 2 hours to LILONGWE, MALAWI  After 38.50 hours, we are finally here. I feel as though I am not capable of making a coherent blog at the moment, so I will be sure to update y'all (my southern teammates are starting to rub off on me) ater this week-ish when I get better wifi and the jet lag wears off 🙂
