A Love like Sign Language

It’s amazing how God places people in your life that can change your view on your own circumstances. I met an incredible woman while working at the preschool in Maramba named Donka. She is the caretaker of the pre-school, so she basically does all the dirty work. Her circumstances are unfavorable; her husband left her with four kids to provide for on her own. This past year her house burnt down and she lost every possession she owned, so she was forced to pack up and move to Maramba to live with her sister. Hello from Zambia!

  Hello from Zambia! As mentioned in the previous blog, team Africa Expedition has made it safely to our contact in Zambia!  It was a long travel “day” starting at 8:30 AM on Saturday at the AIM offices and ended at 12:00 PM (eastern time) on Monday.   Here’s a picture of us in front of out housing for the next 2 weeks. I Think I’m Going to Name my Future Child David

  David had a rotting front row of teeth, he was dusty from all the African sand floating around, and he must have been hot in his puffy jacket, but he clung to me like he’d never had a hug before. My team and I spent the morning at Amazing Grace Preschool, teaching the kids Sunday school songs, our limited dance moves and just loving on the kids. You’re Hot and You’re Cold

Children are truly God’s gift to us they are the moments that never cease to disappoint. The best way to explain meeting them for the first time is very much like the song, “You’re Hot and You’re cold.” If you ever feel like someone is watching you, it is probably some kid peeking through the gates, indeed being mesmerized by you. Arrival in Zambia

The Africa Expeditions’ team leaders just called and they have all arrived in Zambia.  It’s been a long couple of days of travel as they have gone from the United States to France to Kenya and finally Zambia.   The team will spend the coming days getting introduced to their ministry, coming to know the culture, and finding a routine for the weeks ahead.  Until that is, they get ready to travel on to country number two!  They will be finding internet in the next couple of days so that they can communicate home and share more about what their days and weeks...
