The Big City

In between travel from Uganda to Kenya, we were able to have a few days of rest in Nairobi. There was so much to do and see I could hardly call it rest. We stayed in a neat hostel which had hot (ish) showers and was an awesome place to stay! Nairobi is a huge city and made me feel at home. We got to eat good food, shop around, and hang out with the whole expedition team. I really enjoyed my time there.   The past week we have been staying in Ngabolo in our tents. It has been awesome to have our own personal space and live in the outdoors. We have had the opportunity to help cook the...

Faithful, Everlasting, Unshakable, Constant, Satisfying, Pure LOVE

“More pleasing to me than all your prayers, works and penances is that you would believe I love you.” Prophetic word spoken to Marjury Kempe by my favorite person ever, Jesus. I read this in what is quickly becoming the greatest book I have ever read, The Ragamuffin Gospel. Over the course of the last two months, God has rocked my world. Butterfly Kisses<3

Meekah stole my heart.     He is Pastor David’s son. He is in kindergarten. I love him so much. I wish I could bring him back to America. Pastor David offered, but I told him I wasn’t ready to be a mother. Plus he has such a wonderful family here.   He is so precious. He gives me butterfly kisses. He gives me fishy kisses. He looks into my eyes with his big brown eyes and just smiles!   When we get home from afternoon ministry I bend down and open my arms and he comes running into my arms and jumps up on me! It is adorable. He clings to me anytime we...

Stop in the Name of Love

If someone a year ago had told me that I would be in Africa now, I probably would have laughed and said “yeah, probably not Africa” and yet here I am.  The thing is, we have absolutely no idea what is best for us but God has it all taken care of.  It all comes down to a matter of trust. This issue of trust was unearthed well before I left for this trip.  You see, raising over $5000 is kind of a daunting task for a part time, teenage employee and because of who I am, I would stress about this issue a good deal.  God kept trying to tell me to just trust that He...

Divine Appointments

We walked through the market like the day before… we talked with the locals… we shared the love of Jesus… but one thing happened that changed my life FOREVER…. One Saturday afternoon, a few of my girls and I were praying through the market looking for ways to show God’s love.  Julia and Anna, the two team members I was with, were off in a shop praying for another woman, while I for some reason hung around outside.  I didn’t know why, but God told me to stay, so I did.   I stood there, awkwardly not knowing what to do, when I man came...
