The Beginning

I am currently only on day three of training camp, not even in Africa yet, and God has already begun to work on changing my heart, on growing and stretching me in my faith, and on pressing me to do, say, and believe things I would never have dreamed  of before.  Thursday night, I thought I knew what to expect spiritually.  I thought I knew who I would become and who I’d be at the end of this African adventure.  I’ve discovered, however,  that God’s intentions are far greater and more extravagant than I could have ever imagined.    ...

Drink and Be Thirsty

When God’s children listen, He speaks true story It’s crazy to me, and yet I’ve been experiencing this truth the moment I arrived at training camp I have loved the opportunity to simply revel in the presence of God and praise Him with some of His other children There are so many things I have been learning and soaking up, but the main thing I realized is that I never want my thirst for knowledge of God to be satisfied. There will never be a time when I know everything about Him, and I love that as long as I keep pursuing God, He will pursue me. I can drink and drink and...

My prayers are with you

Brothers and Sisters, Colossians 2 speaks for my heart right now, “For though I am absent in body, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the firmness of your faith in Christ. One Day Blind

Walk by faith and not by sight. Easy, right? I definitely thought so. I thought I knew completely what it meant to walk by faith and not by sight.. I mean after all, here I was in Africa… following the Lord and the plan that He has for me here, trusting that He knows what He’s doing when I don’t. I walk by faith. God has definitely been stretching what I “know” about walking by faith and not by sight. He literally took away my sight. Yep. I spent July 21st completely blind. Well, kind of. You see, I have absolutely TERRIBLE vision… like...

These feet were made for walkin’

note: this is Abby on Megan’s profile … still lost my password 🙂   This week in Moshi has really flown by, I can’t believe that our time here is almost over…. and that a week from today we’ll be leaving East Africa for America. As I was thinking about this the other day, I had my head in my lap and was looking at my (mosquito-bitten) feet. God started to help me think back on all the places He’s taken these feet this summer. Playing tag with kids in Kwapa (the bush) Uganda, to the busy streets of Tororo, up hills and on top of rocks to watch the...
