There in life lies a path for all of us to walk. Mine has begun just in recent years. God’s good plans have become visible to my eyes now as understanding of the Holy Spirit’s workmanship becomes stronger. Christ has given me faith and I faithfully trust him; I want to follow his leadership like that of John the Baptist. John being a man who doubted even the Son of Man responded to his call and served God. I respond now to my call. My call is to listen and follow; to carry my cross where directed.   Oh why does evil come into your house oh Lord? It corrupts even your church...

A Day Without Words

Once again it has been a while since my last post and so much has happened that I couldn’t possibly type it all down. So since last time I posted I have spent over 9 days in the bush with the Maasai people and no shower. From there we went to Nairobi where we took a few days to scrub the mud and dirt that had caked itself onto our arms, legs, and faces, as well as plan, pray, and prepare for what was to come in Tanzania. After a few days of searching for things online and listening to the Lord we decided to go straight to Dar Es Salaam. After 2 days of travel we arrived in Dar es...

Faith, Doubt, and Miracles

I can’t say how many times in my life I’ve thought to myself: God, if you would just show me a miracle, then I would believe.  I listen to the doubt in my head as i pray for miracles half heartedly, giving myself room to excuse God if He doesn’t follow through.  During this trip I’ve seen miracles. But none greater than the miracle I overlook daily.    I’ve realised something.  When we approach God saying, “then I would believe” the sad thing is, God knows we wouldn’t.  After Jesus died many people, like...

Something as unique and special as entering the home of a Maasai warrior as a special guest seems trivial to me now. All I see are people. People who are lost and looking for a way home to God. The farther away you get from home, the closer it is I feel to what was left behind; the more people of worldly cultures I meet only goes to paint on portrait displaying the unity of humanity. No, God is not transforming my worldview but rather showing me clearly what was always in front of my eyes.   We are the same.   Knowledge of this does not come from books of man and careful study,...

Do Not Be Afraid

“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the POWER OF GOD….For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength….God chose the FOOLISH things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the WEAK things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the LOWLY things of this world and the DESPISED things-and the things that ARE NOT-to nullify the things that are.” 1 Corinthians 1:18,15,27-28    I do not need to be afraid. I do...
