In the Eyes of a Broken Spirit I found Jesus

I think it’s safe to say that even in my Christian faith I have still been on the search for Jesus or a Jesus encounter. It’s so funny because I keep expecting to encounter Him in the most traditional places such as church, christian events, etc… (Don’t get me wrong now, I believe that the presence of God is in such settings and I am thankful for it.) However I also believe that Jesus is a street/ bush dweller. Why? Because I saw His face in a way  will never forget. WE got into the bush on a Saturday. I was excited but at the same time not so excited. (P.S. to...

In Your Presence God, I’m completely satisfied!

Since I have been in Africa, the presence of God has been revealed to me in so many ways! It seems that everywhere I go I see God moving. I can see His hand moving in the people of Africa. The joy on their faces shows that Jesus Christ is ministering to them. It’s such a comfort to see God’s hand guiding the people of Uganda. During our ministry there, over 70 people came to know Christ. So many children were loved on during our time in Tororo. Bibles were handed out to many people who needed them. The Word was presented to more people than I can count. God is just as much here...

Playing with the Orphans!

Utter awesomeness.   Finney, Pastor Philemon of Deliverance Church’s son, decides to take Mallarie, Jessica and I on a small short adventure to the well down the street from our house on the last day of our stay in Uganda. Everyone was just sitting around the house waiting until the farewell “fellowship” at 4 so the three of us jumped at the opportunity to get out and do something. We walked down the half paved roads, past tons of random livestock (cows we touched, goats and chickens we just chased, except for the baby goat we held AWESOME) and lots of little...

Absolute Truth

There is something remarkable that God’s been teaching me since I have been here and its that his word is absolute truth. Your response is … yeah alllee, duh I would hope you believe that since you are a Christian.   Don’t get me wrong, I have always believed his word was truth, but I also believed it as if it was written 2,000 years ago.   Example: The first morning we were here, we didn’t have much to eat and all we had was some peanut butter and one piece of toast for each of us. Angie prayed that God would multiply that food and that our stomachs...
